Smoots made from 1875 to 1888 in both rf and cf, this example was made as a self defence pocket pistol using the.38 Colt short which also chambered the Webley .38 cartridge introduced in 1865. Most Smoots were nickel plated with very few blued. Bore is .378 to .380 to use an outside lubricated heal type bullet. The saw handle is the most comfortable of all to shoot and a good choice if you reload BP short cases. This gun has seen little use and has been well cared for and kept in excellent condition.
