Description:
"NSN. Made circa 1580-1600. 52 caliber bore with a 13"" barrel. This is a superb example of an Augsburg Puffer wheel lock pistol The stock is nicely inlaid with carved stag horn in vinal and floral design. There are carved figurines surrounding the tang on the top side of the grip area. There is a vignette of a soldier on the bottom of the gun at the base of the ram rod channel. This gun has a oval disc shaped butt. The metal has been cleaned and has an even gray patina. The top of the barrel has the Augsberg pine cone stamping. This is a very fine example of a very early Wheel Lock Pistol!
