Victorian Era Dutch Ivory Stocked Flintlock Pistol (AH8881)
Description:
"NSN. Made circa 1850. 50 caliber with a 13.5" barrel. Metal has been cleaned. This is a Victorian period copy of a 1630 – 1650 flint lock pistol. The stock is made out of Ivory that has silver fittings. The butt has a roman soldier’s head with a silver helmet. There is a repair at the second escutcheon. There are less than 100 known authentic period guns in existence and only a handful in private hands after renowned collector Henk Visser donated his collection of Ivory Stocked Dutch pistols to an Amsterdam Museum.
