A Very Early "I.S. Meckel, A. Suerin" Marked German Made Deluxe Flintlock Pistol Circa 1720-1730 In Fine Untouched Condition!
Description: A Very Early "I.S. Meckel, A. Suerin" Marked German Made Deluxe Flintlock Pistol Circa 1720-1730 In Fine Untouched Condition. All original and complete throughout except for the frizzen which is missing. The pistol has fine untouched metal and markings. The lock is clearly marked "I.S. MECKEL/A. SUERIN" and has a nice patina on it. The barrel has raised metal throughout it along with a silver figure of "Athena" on it. The barrel retains original brown throughout it which is thinning to a light patina in areas. All of the brass hardware on the pistol including the butt cap with embossed grosteque face and fancy side plate are fine throughout and retain all of their original gold wash on them. The nose cap has faded to a natural patina. The wood on the pistol is fine throughout and has both raised and incise carving throughout it. The pistol has a nice action and very good bore. The entire gun measures 19 1/2 inches long and the barrel is 12 1/2 inches in length. This Is A Very Early And Fine 1700's Example Of An "I.S.
