Antique MAUBEUGE French Model An IX PERC. Conversion GENDARMERIE Pistol
MAUBEUGE ARSENAL Military GENDARMERIE Pistol
Description: Antique MAUBEUGE French Model An IX PERC. Conversion GENDARMERIE Pistol MAUBEUGE ARSENAL Military GENDARMERIE Pistol Here we present an antique French Pistolet modèle An IX, or Pistol Model An 9, made at the Maubeuge Arsenal in France circa 1819. This model was manufactured at all three of the French Arsenals, Charleville, Maubeuge, and St-Etienne. This pistol was made as a military police pistol and was converted from flintlock to percussion when the more reliable percussion firing system came about, which greatly extended the life of these type pistols! A Gendarmerie is a military force with law enforcement duties among the civilian population. The Police Nationale is responsible for Paris and other urban areas whereas the Gendarmerie is responsible for small towns and rural areas with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants. These pistols are of robust construction with lots of brass for support. The bore is a massive .60 caliber. Though this example was manufactured just beyond, many of these pistols were used in the latter part of the Napoleonic Wars. The overall condition is good. Strong action. Dim bore, clear and smooth. Solid and secure grip/stock. “114” is stamped on the left barrel and wrist. “C.1819” is stamped on the left side of the barrel. Sharp engravings throughout. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 5 inches. Caliber: .60 Flintlock Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1200 #217324 SOLD Antique: Yes |
