Early-1800 Antique LIEGE Martial Size FLINTLOCK Pistol .65 Caliber European Large Dutch/Belgian “Sea Service”
Description: Early-1800 Antique LIEGE Martial Size FLINTLOCK Pistol .65 Caliber European Large Dutch/Belgian “Sea Service” Here we present an antique Dutch/Belgian “Sea Service” Flintlock Pistol, made circa the 1840s in Liege. This was made in Liege, Belgium, one of the largest weapons-making centers of the world for several centuries. Liege was a parcel of the Netherlands until their revolution in the 1830s. This pistol was made around that time. This pistol features a large .69 caliber bore, typical of a military small arm of the period. The pommel is a flat one with a lanyard ring. The underside of the barrel is marked with a Liege proof. No provision for a ramrod was made as the user carried one secured to his belt. This would have been one of the last large, smooth bore flintlock pistols to be made for official service before pistols in the percussion firing system and then shortly after cartridge firearms were introduced and adopted. The overall condition is fair. The cock has been repaired. The action does not work at present: it does have spring tension but does not hold either cocked position. The stock is solid, though obviously used and “wormed”. The bore is smooth and patinated. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 9-1/8 inches. Caliber: .65 Flintlock Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1800 #226125 Price: $1,800.00 Buy Now Antique: Yes Contact Seller |
