Flint Trade Pistol by James Allport
Description: .58 cal, NVSN, 8 inch brass barrel, walnut stock, brass furniture, lock marked "ALLPORT/Late wth/KETLAND & Co", probably made for the English trade in Canada, early 1800's. William Ketland and William Allport were partners and furnished pistols for the Canadian trade, after Ketland died in 1804 the business was run by William Allport's son, James. When William Allport died in 1816, James started his own business using the "late with Ketland" address on the lock plate. Condition: bore is dark with black powder oxidation, brass is a smooth mustard color, wood is excellent, excellent mechanically, excellent marks. Antique: Yes Price: $950.00 Contact Seller |
