French Gendarme Pocket Flintlock 18th Century Pistol

Description:
A French Gendame Small pocket Flintlock of the 18th Century. Often these worked their way to the New World and even the American Rev. War' with a ..52 cal, 3 3/8” part octagon part round barrel with cannon muzzle and an oxidized bore. The metal surfaces have mostly toned to gray-brown patina showing scattered oxidation staining and old light to moderate pitting. The walnut stock remains in very good condition showing long ago  repaired cracks near the tip, overall darkening from the years and scattered light dings. Stock fit remains quite nice overall, a simple slightly offset ramrod is included and the springs are a little soft but the lock otherwise seems to function normally. Measuring about 7 1/2" overall, very neat , handy sto-away pistol.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith  before  shooting.
