PAIR of Antique BRITISH Mabson, Labron, & Mabson .32 Cal. FLINTLOCK Pistols Engraved, Made Circa the Early-1800s in Birmingham
Description: PAIR of Antique BRITISH Mabson, Labron, & Mabson .32 Cal. FLINTLOCK Pistols Engraved, Made Circa the Early-1800s in Birmingham Here we present a pair of antique Mabson, Labron, & Mabson Flintlock Pocket Pistols, made circa the 1820s in Birmingham, England. The frames are marked with “Mabson, Labron, & Mabson” on the left. The undersides of the barrels are British proof marked. These very small pistols feature a turn-off barrel and folding trigger. The turn-off barrel made for easier loading without a ramrod, as well as allowed the user to use a larger ball than could be used by loading from the muzzle, creating a much better gas seal. The frames of these guns are nicely engraved on both sides of the frame, the underside of the pistol, and around the muzzle. These little self-defense pistols would have been most at home in the pocket of anyone in the busy cities of Paris, London, and Liege during the very early 1800s. These pistols are small, light and simple. They were favored among the gentry and women because of these traits. Men would carry them concealed in a waistcoat pocket and women would hide them in a hand muff. The overall condition is good. Blue finish on the barrel and bright otherwise. The actions are both strong. The bores are smooth and in good condition and both barrels turn off easily, as intended. The grips are solid. A nice little set, measuring about 5” overall each! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrels are both 1-1/4 inches. Caliber: .32 Flintlock. Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1750 #228565 SOLD Antique: Yes |
