QUEEN’S CAVALRY Marked New Land FLINTLOCK Pistol
Queen’s Own Royal Yeomanry Cavalry Pistol!
Description: QUEEN’S CAVALRY Marked New Land FLINTLOCK Pistol Queen’s Own Royal Yeomanry Cavalry Pistol! Here we present an antique New Land Pattern British Cavalry Flintlock Pistol, made circa the early 1800s. Introduced in 1796 and in widespread production by 1802, the New Land Cavalry Pistol was widely issued throughout the Napoleonic Wars. This pistol’s trigger guard is marked “Q.O.R/Y.C/150”, which stands for Queen’s Own Royal Yeomanry Cavalry and a gun number of 150. This cavalry regiment was voluntary and consisted of gentlemen and yeomen. It was raised in 1794 to respond to any attempted invasion by the French, who were undergoing a revolution at the time. Troops from various parts of Britain, such as Dorset, Staffordshire, and West Kent would participate. Many of these would last well into the 20th Century and some current units draw on this heritage. The lock is marked “TOWER” at the tail and “GR” under a crown in the center, King George’s royal cipher. A small broad arrow is under the flash pan. Proofs are on the left side of the barrel. Overall condition is very good or better. The iron parts have a gray patina. Likewise, the brass hardware has darkened with age. The markings are clear. The walnut stock shows use and remains whole and solid. The bore is smooth and clean. The action is excellent, strong and crisp. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 9 inches. Caliber: .66 Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $3425 #190368 SOLD Antique: Yes |
