RARE Antique JM MARLIN .22 Rimfire Vest Pocket DERINGER with PEARL GRIPS 1 of only 2000 Manufactured, Cased in a False Book!
Description: RARE Antique JM MARLIN .22 Rimfire Vest Pocket DERINGER with PEARL GRIPS 1 of only 2000 Manufactured, Cased in a False Book! Here we present an exceedingly rare John M. Marlin 1st Model Deringer, in New Haven, Connecticut. It was produced with a brass frame and walnut grips. Produced from 1863 to 1867, the total production was only 2,000 total making it a scare little single shot pistol. Marlin made three of these deringer types. These included the “1st Model”, made between 1863 and 1867, the “OK Model” made between 1863 and 1870, and the “Never Miss” Model made between 1870 and 1881. This little deringer was the first handgun produced by Marlin. The barrel is 2-1/16 inches long and pivots to side for loading. There is a plunger under the frame that is depressed to free barrel. It is chambered for .22 rimfire cartridges with no extraction feature. The frame is brass, and as this one is, usually nickel-plated. It has two grooves milled beneath blued barrel. The overall condition is very good. The action is strong and tight. The bore is in good condition. The pearl grips are in excellent shape. The finish on the barrel has faded to a smooth and pleasing dark gray patina. This example comes with an inconspicuous book that would have allowed you to keep an “Ace in the hole.” No one at the poker table in the saloon would have thought twice about your book, until they cheated of course! This set will display well in a wild west collection, no doubt! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 2-1/16 inches. Caliber: .22 Rimfire Short Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1475 #20289 SOLD Antique: Yes |
