"British Pair of Small Muff Pistols (AH5320)
"British Pair of Small Muff Pistols. This is an elegant set with original case. These are folding trigger pistols. Approximately .35 caliber (single shot) turn off barrels. Barrel length 1 3/8". Overall length 4 ¾". Locks are fire blue. Frames are fire blue. Frames are broad leaf scroll engraved. Frames are “German Silver". Grips are perfect with all checkering perfect. Action works perfectly. Brass bound cornered case is excellent and has an iron single cavity bullet mold, miniature English flask marked “Sykes", Joyce tin of caps, turn off barrel wrench, ram rod, several lead ball and case key (which does not operate the lock). Altogether, this is a very fine set of muff or pocket pistols. Guns have “V" Victorian proofs. Both pistols are numbered 334 but we doubt the maker, (no makers name on pistols) would have made 300 of these. We believe this set was numbered in succession of whatever type of gun was made before or after.
