"Cased Pair of Screw Off Barrel Target Pistols by Dooley (AH8762)
Description: "Numbered 1 & 2. Made circa 1855. 45 caliber bores with 9.5" barrels. This is a wonderful cased pair of target pistols. In very fine condition. Most of the original finish remains on the barrels. The case colors have darkened. All of the engraving is nice and sharp as is the checkering on each grip. These guns have screw off barrels that you have to take off to fit in the case. Each barrel is marked with a number one and a number two. While the barrels will thread on, they will not line up if they are screwed on to the wrong gun. Inside the case is a variety of accessories. Including a loose straight razors blade. The only thing we can figure this was for is to help getting the barrels out of the case as they are so precisely fit in the case. William Dooley was a Liverpool maker on Ranelagh Street from 1846 to 1864. Antique: Yes Price: $4,750.00 Contact Seller |
