Antique AMERICAN STANDARD TOOL COMPANY “Hero” Brass Frame PERCUSSION Pistol
Description: Antique AMERICAN STANDARD TOOL COMPANY “Hero” Brass Frame PERCUSSION Pistol One of 30,000 Single Shot Pistols Produced Here we present an antique American Standard Tool Co. “Hero” Percussion Pistol, made circa 1868-73 in Newark, New Jersey. This pistol was produced with a round, screw off smooth bore barrel (the barrel on this example cannot be unscrewed by hand). The barrel varied in lengths with the 2” and 3” barrels most commonly encountered. The American Standard Tool Company, successor to Manhattan Arms, was set up to manufacture firearms and to make tools. It lasted only five years, between 1868 and 1873. Known as the “Poor Man’s Deringer”, the Hero pistol was made through American Standards’s existence. The Bacon Manufacturing Company made a similar, if not identical, pistol that appeared in an advertisement by them circa 1861. When unmarked Hero pistols are encountered, they were likely made by Bacon. The overall condition is good. Strong action. The bore is in good shape (aged). Secure grips with expected wear from handling. “A.S.T.Co/HERO” is engraved on the left side of the frame . Here is a simple pocket pistol that would have gotten the job done. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 3 inches. Caliber: .33 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1000 #217118 SOLD Antique: Yes |
