Antique Belgian ELG Double Barrel Percussion Pocket Pistol Side-by-Side
Description:
Offered here is an antique Belgian side-by-side double-barrel percussion pocket pistol dating approximately to the mid-19th century. This compact muzzleloading pistol features two smoothbore barrels, two external percussion hammers, dual triggers and a rounded walnut grip. An oval Liège-style proof mark is visible on the frame/barrel area. No manufacturer’s name was located. The pistol remains in antique, well-used condition. The metal has turned primarily to an aged gray and brown patina, with scattered oxidation, pitting and surface wear throughout. The barrels and bores show age, residue and roughness. The walnut grip remains intact and displays scratches, dents and handling wear consistent with its age. The mechanical operation has not been fully evaluated, and the pistol has not been test-fired. It is being sold strictly as an antique collectible, historical display piece or gunsmithing project. It is not represented or warranted as safe to fire.
