Antique European SXS Pistol Measures between 40 & 44 Cal 2.75" Octagon Barrels Very Good Bores
Description: The antique European side-by-side double-barrel pistol is a black powder percussion firearm featuring twin octagonal barrels measuring approximately 2.75 inches in length. The bores measure between .40 and .44 caliber. This configuration represents a compact double-barrel design typical of continental manufacture from the percussion era. The pistol has no visible serial number and includes identifying marks “AV” and “GS” on the bottom of the trigger guard, as well as “IL” on the left side of the stock. These marks indicate maker or assembler identification consistent with European production practices of the period. The double-action mechanism is described as functioning well, with both locks and bores noted to be in very good condition. The barrels retain the original octagonal profile, and the overall form shows the classic styling of a side-by-side percussion pistol. The metal and wood components display the expected aged appearance of a 19th-century piece, consistent with its classification as an antique.
