Description: BRITISH Antique NEW LAND PATTERN Pistol Unit Marked 2 Hussars King’s German Legion Here we present an antique British New Land Pattern Pistol, made circa 1800. This one is unit marked for the 2nd Hussars of the King’s German Legion, the only German unit to fight the French all the way through the wars. This pistol would have originally been made in the flintlock format. After the war, to extend its service life, this pistol received a conversion to percussion. The right side of the frame is marked “TOWER” and “CROWN/GR”, the royal cipher for King George (Latin: Georgius Rex). The left side of the frame is marked “TG/S”. The butt cap is inscribed “2HUSAR KGL/E/57”. Proof marks are present on the left side of the barrel. “JP” is marked in the ramrod channel.
