Carl Pestalozzi Percussion .44 Cal Dated 1850
Description: We are pleased to present an extremely rare “Traveler’s” percussion pistol from the mid 1800’s. The piece was designed and built by Carl Pestalozzi and bears his signature on the left silver side-plate. Mr. Pestalozzi was obviously a master craftsman in his gun-making abilities as exhibited in this true work of art! Based on his last name one would assume he was Italian! The pistol was marketed in Zurich Switzerland by “Caslimir Wagner” which was one of Europe’s leading firearms dealers comparable to Abercrombie & Fitch in the US. The top of the barrel is signed “Zurich” and dated 1850 by Caslimir Wagner. This is most likely as mint as you could expect to find a piece of 1850! The leaf carved furniture is absolutely exquisite. The action is crisp as new and features an adjustable trigger pull. The bore is .44 cal and exhibits strong rifling but needs a good cleaning. The barrel length is 8 1/2” and the overall length is 15”. Features a “V” rear sight and blade front sight. Hardware is pleasantly scroll engraved and retains a rich patina of almost 175 years of the aging process. I consider myself to be very particular and can’t really find anything to pick at on this piece. With the purchase of this piece you will most likely own “one of a kind” pistol. Pre 98’ arms are skyrocketing in value because of their unique designs, quality of construction and rarity. Once they are absorbed in the collector’s market they are basically “GONE”. Hard assets are the wave of the future. Being a antique it will require no ATF paper work for the transaction. For payment I will accept personal checks, money orders, certified check or cashiers’ check, all major credit cards. Credit cards are acceptable with a 4% up-charge for processing. Personal checks require 8 business days to clear the bank, all other forms of payment receive same day as received shipment. Price includes Registered USP shipping and will be fully insured. You are responsible for any state and local laws. By purchase of this item, you release the seller from any liability that may arise due to use or misuse of this firearm. Thanks for looking and if you have any questions give me a call or text 931-303-6739. Thank you for your time and attention to our products.
