Here we present an antique Guillaume Berleur Signed Percussion Belt Pistol, made circa 1830 in Liege, Belgium. Guillaume Berleur was a famous Liege gunmaker whose career dated from 1780 to 1840. Berleur worked under direct control of Nicolas Boutet during the French Revolution.
This pistol is classy and features engraved animals, like the twin lions on the left side of the stock and the crane on the trigger guard. Other engraving throughout with detail on the pommel cap and trigger guard finial. The lock is signed by the maker. A Liege proof is visible on the left side of the barrel. Grip is hand-checkered with tiny studs at the axes. The bore is rifled with very fine grooves.
The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces are a light gray. The markings are clear and legible. The walnut stock is in good shape. The bore is in good shape and well-rifled.
