GOLD INLAID & ENGRAVED Antique 1850s Back Action PERCUSSION Belt Pistol With FLORAL SCROLL ENGRAVING
Description: GOLD INLAID & ENGRAVED Antique 1850s Back Action PERCUSSION Belt Pistol With FLORAL SCROLL ENGRAVING Here we present antique Back Action Percussion Pistol, manufactured in the mid-19th Century. A back action lock is one in which the operating part of the lock is behind the hammer or cock. This lock was popular on percussion guns made in St. Louis, New York, California, Ohio, England and Belgium. This pistol would have resided in the belt or holster of a man in the mid-1800s to be primarily used for self-defense during the mid-1800s. This pistol is large enough to make someone think twice before bothering the carrier. This example features a chambering of .50 caliber with a round barrel with a gold inlaid pattern embedded in it. The lock and hammer are nicely engraved with a scroll motif. The checkered wooden stock has an attractive maple finish, which is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. The overall condition is good. The action does not function as the hammer will not hold in the cock position. Good bore for its age. Solid maple striped stock with expected wear and a thin stable crack near the left side screw. Gold inlaid design on the barrel. A hand inscription is present on the grip plaque but is no longer fully legible. The rod lug is separated from the barrel. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 9-3/8 inches. Caliber: .50 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1500 #247427 SOLD Antique: Yes |
