LARGE, ORNATE European Antique BOXLOCK Single Shot .60 Cal. FOLDING TRIGGER
Sleek & Handy Hideout Pistol from the 1800s
Description: LARGE, ORNATE European Antique BOXLOCK Single Shot .60 Cal. FOLDING TRIGGER Sleek & Handy Hideout Pistol from the 1800s Here we present an antique Folding Trigger Boxlock Pistol, made circa 1860 in Europe. This little self-defense pistol would have been most at home in the pocket of anyone in the busy cities of Europe during the tumultuous 1800s. This pistol is small, light and simple. The trigger stows flush with the bottom of the frame until the hammer is cocked, whereupon it drops down for use. This pistol features delicate vining scroll on the top of the barrel, accented with German silver. More traditional scroll engraving is cut on either side of the frame. The barrel is cannon-shaped with an octagonal section that transitions to round. The pistol’s finish is a fiery blue. There is a “1” marking on the underside of the barrel and frame. This pistol would likely have been a part of a 2 gun set originally, just like the famous American Deringer. As there are no proof or maker’s markings on this piece, and given its aesthetic, we would attribute the gun’s country of origin as France. This is not a tiny pistol, as many of this style are. Its full length is just over 8-inches from muzzle to the back of the grip. The overall condition is fine. Original blue preserved. Beautifully grained walnut grip with a cap box in the pommel. Excellent action. The bore is in great shape. Here is a truly fine cannon barrel pistol for the collection. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 3-5/8 inches. Caliber: .60 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1285 #210600 SOLD Antique: Yes |
