US Model 1842 Ames with U.S.R. above 1843 Lock Date

Description:
This is a RARE Revenue Service model pistol wasthe forerunner of the US Coast Guard. The mechanical function is about very good and the nipple is ok. The only inspector mark I find is a P on the front of the trigger guard. The front fore stock has a crack from the front lock to the barrel band. There is a faint cartouche on the wood flat.
