Prescott Revolver
Description:
Prescott Revolver in .38 Rimfire. First Model with Forward Cylinder Stops. 2 Digit Serial Number. Original nickel plating. These were made from about 1860 to 1862 before the Company was sued and production was halted for Infringement of the Rollin White Patent held by Smith and Wesson. Only a few hundred were made, this being the 1st variation. I believe it was one of the largest caliber cartridge revolvers made during the Civil War with most ending up in the hands of Union units in the Midwest. Overall, NRA Antique Excellent Condition with 95% plating remaining and original varnish on grips.
