Various Spanish Armories bought 5,100 9mm Largo Astra Model 400 (1921) pistols in 1941 and 1942. The serial range is 99,031 to 104,150. This gun is serial number 101,164. The 5.75"" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The top rear of the slide is marked UNCETA Y COMPANIA over GUERNICA ESPANA over PISTOLA DE 9M/M (38) over MODELO 1921(400). The Franco Nationalist Regime military flaming bomb with an I inside inspection mark is on the left forward corner of the trigger guard. The serial number matches on the frame, slide, and barrel. The gun retains approx. 90% of its blue military finish with the expected holster wear. The checkered wood grips are fine with no cracks or chips and light bruising. The action functions correctly. The military holster, with its strap, is very good with tight stitching and moderate wear. If you collect Spanish or European military automatic pistols, this Spanish military rig would fit right in.
