The 9mm Parabellum Astra 600 was manufactured from 1943 through 1945. Approximately 59,400 were produced with the first 10,500 going to the Nazi German Army. Interestingly, an additional 44,350 were sold to the West German Police in 1951. Of these, 31,350 were sold out of military stocks to West Germany by the Spanish Government. The remaining 14,000, the last guns produced, were sold directly to West Germany by Unceta y Cia. This gun is one of that lot. The 5.3"" barrel has an excellent bore. The gun retains approx. 97% blue and the bright parts are excellent. The checkered wood grips are excellent with no cracks or chips. The top rear of the slide is marked UNCETA Y COMPANIA, S.A. over GUERNICA ESPANA over ""ASTRA"" MOD. 600/43 over 9mm PARABELLUM. The action functions correctly. The black leather holster, with spare magazine, is excellent with thght stitching (with the exception of one loose belt loop). This is an interesting rig that was produced during WWII and sold after the war to the West German Police. It's a good fit for a WWII automatic pistol or police pistol collection.
