This rare Astra Terminator has to be one of the finest examples in existence, if not the very finest. It is 100% original, completely unfired, and has obviously spent it's entire life in storage. The Astra Terminator .44 Magnum revolver was introduced in 1980's and was designed based off of the N-frame Smith & Wesson and the lessor known Jovino Effector. Featuring a spectacular high-gloss blue finish, a strawed yellow finish on the hammer and trigger, a fully shrouded 2.75" inch barrel, adjustable sights, a 6-shot fluted cylinder, and a checkered rubber round-butt grip, the Astra Terminators "tough" looks and high-quality construction have garnered attention in both the shooting world and with filmakers in Hollywood. The Terminator has been featured in numerous movies and TV shows over the years. The first feature film it appeared in was the blockbuster Lethal Weapon in 1987, followed by the cult classic From Dusk till Dawn as George Clooney's character's main weapon, then more recently in the movie Death Proof in 2007. It has been featured in numerous TV shows as well, including Hunter from 1986 to 1988 as Detective Rick Hunter's main weapon, and more recently in C.S.I. and Fringe in 2001 and 2009 respectively. Outside of the movie and television fame the gun itself is an extremely high-quality weapon, and certainly the nicest revolver that Astra has ever made. They have a reputation with shooters for extreme reliability, good accuracy, superb fit and finish, and excellent size and ergonomics for someone wanting a concealable .44 Magnum revolver. As mentioned earlier, this particular example is like-new, rating 99% plus. The factory high-gloss blue finish is absolutely beautiful and the only deduction we can find on the gun is the very slightest drag-line around the cylinder from the action being worked. As you can see from the pictures, it appears as just a faint line on the glossy finish, not actual wear through the blue finish. The bore and six cylinder bores are pristine and perfect. The bore even still has the dried factory grease that it was shipped with in it, along with more of the factory grease in the hinge and in the cylinder bores. The factory golden "straw" finish on the hammer and trigger are like-new and bright, showing no wear or damage. The original black checkered rubber Pachmayr factory grips are in perfect shape, free from any tears, wear, chunking, or damage of any kind. The action on this Astra Terminator is smooth, precise, and perfectly in-time. It locks up tight with zero felt play or wiggle. All of the controls are in 100% perfect working order, including the adjustable rear target-style sight. This spectacular Astra comes complete with it's original box with an intact end label serial numbered to the gun, the Styrofoam box insert, and the "Astra"-branded 3-way screwdriver tool (just like the tool Colt used at this time). If you have been looking for one of these rare and very cool .44 Magnum Terminators for your collection here is your chance to get one that couldn't be upgraded in any way.
