Built in 1975 this awesome .44 Auto Mag was owned by famed shooter, author and Magnum cartridge pioneer, Elmer Keith. The gun is complete in the original hard case with the manual, Elmer Keith’s book ‘Hell I Was There’ along with the original bill of sale on Elmer’s Guns & Ammo letterhead and the original check. Note the check is for ‘Gun & Book’ and the signed letter notes this gun by serial number. Note the gun is engraved with Elmer Keith’s signature on the left side of the frame. Given Elmer Keith’s connection with load development on the .357 Magnum & .44 Magnum it’s no surprise he would have been keenly interested in the most powerful auto-loading handgun of the time. This example remains in near-mint condition from end to end with the stainless steel surfaces rating 99% showing only faint handling and firing evidence. Positively the coolest Auto Mag available this decade for the advanced collector!
