1967 Vintage High Standard Model 106 Military Supermatic Citation .22 LR Semi-Auto Pistol
** Pristine & Beautiful High Standard ** SOLD
Description:
This High Standard Model 106 Military Supermatic Citation was made in 1967 and is absolutely beautiful. The Supermatic Citation Military was built on the 106 Military frame for only 3 short years between 1966 and 1968. It was the company's top-of-the-line target model with a beautiful high-gloss "Trophy" blue finish and superb fit and finish. The Supermatic Citation Military was offered with a 5.5 bull barrel or a 7.25" inch fluted bull barrel and featured an adjustable trigger with weight and travel settings, stippled front and rear grip straps, target sights with a bridge-style adjustable rear sight, and a gold-plated or color case hardened trigger and magazine release. Both barrel sizes came factory drilled and tapped on the underside for barrel weights, and the muzzle end of the barrels came factory-machined to accept detachable muzzle brakes available as factory accessories. These beautiful pistols quickly earned a reputation for being extremely accurate and reliable. To this day, many shooters and collectors consider the High Standard Supermatic Citation Military to be one of the best regular-production American-made .22 target pistols ever made. This particular example is an outstanding piece with the original gloss blue finish rating 98 to 99%. To find any deductions takes an extremely close inspection and it would be very difficult to find a justifiable 2% deduction. The factory color case hardened trigger and mag release are like-new with bright colors. It has a perfect bright bore with sharp rifling and zero visible imperfections. The original checkered Walnut target grips are like-new and beautiful, free from any wear, cracks, chips, or repairs. All of the controls and adjustments on this High Standard are in perfect working order. The action on this pistol is perfectly fit to the frame and moves smoothly and precisely. It is obvious that this pistol has spent all or the vast majority of it's life in long-term storage, and we would be very surprised if it has had more than 50 rounds fired thru it since it left the factory 52 years ago. If you have been looking for one of the best 106 Series Supermatic Citation Military's on the planet, here is your chance. This High Standard would be a superb addition to any collection and an excellent long-term investment.
