Unusual Reising Arms Company “It’s a Bear” semi-automatic .22LR target pistol, SN: 2448, made in Hartford, Connecticut circa 1921-1924, production limited to about 5000 pistols. Designed by noted firearms inventor and competitive marksman Eugene Reising, the pistol has a distinctive hinged, tip-down barrel for easy inspection, cleaning and single loading. This all-matching example (matching barrel and slide) has the early Hartford markings, single 1916 patent date, push-button barrel release, long tapered barrel, screw-adjustable sights and molded Reising bear-logo grips. Complete with an original dual-tone 12-round magazine, the right side with "5" and "10" round indicators, and a pinned floorplate.

Condition:

Gorgeous 98% bright original pre-war blue, identical to that seen on the later-introduced Colt Bullseye Match Target Pistol. The fire-blued front sight, rear sight, and barrel release all in the same exemplary condition. No appreciable thinning of front or back straps. Crisp grips without cracks or losses. EXC magazine with vibrant temper colors. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. A wonderful, high condition, no-excuse pistol, sure to please the advanced collector!
