Description: European GERMAN Proofed “D.R.G.M.” Marked .22 Single Shot C&R TARGET Pistol With DOUBLE SET TRIGGERS and LIGHTLY ENGRAVED Here we present a C&R European German Proofed “D.R.G.M.” Marked Target Pistol made circa the turn of the century in mainland Europe. This pistol’s mechanism involves using the spurred trigger guard to open the action. It is fitted with adjustable target sights and a double set trigger. This was a 20th Century copy of the Stevens Tip-Up series of pistols, which originated circa 1864, during the American Civil War. This pistol features an 11-inch barrel with a hooded front sight. These were a delight to shoot with their affordable ammunition, nice balance, and crisp trigger. The “D.R.G.M.” marking on the frame stands for “Deutsche Reich Gebrauch Muster”, or “German Reich License for Use”. This is a single shot target pistol with a tip up barrel activated by pushing the trigger guard forward to open and load. The rear target sight is adjustable and similar to the ones found on the Stevens single shot pistol and has a hooded front sight. The overall condition is fine. Original finish. The bore is in good shape with a lightly frosted appearance. Solid grip with sharp checkering. Legible markings. Pleasing light engravings. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
