Beretta Model 1934 Late Issue With Blank Slide
Description: This one is fairly early in the blank slide run that are very difficult to find. Manufactured likely within a week or two of the fall of the Fascist regime on July 25, 1943. Apparently, Beretta didn't quite know how to mark the guns during the interim government, so they just left the slides alone for a few weeks. Manufactured in 1943 during German occupation of Italy, most were issued to the Italian Socialist Republic Air Force or Army. The slide is without a legend, with the left grip tang stamped RE for army issue. Note that only a small portion of late World War II Model 1934 pistols with blank slides are known to exist since their production was limited to a few weeks at best. It is surprising that the high polish finish was still being employed at Beretta at such a late stage of hostilities. Many other Axis manufacturers had abandoned fine finishing touches as the war waged on. The slide and frame feature matching serial numbers and we would rate the piece at a strong 95% original blue finish. The frame is thinning mostly to a smooth brown patina on the front of the grip straps, with some light spotting on the right side of the frame/slide. The grips are excellent and factory original to the piece. Mechanically the piece is exemplary. If you are a Beretta collector here is your chance to own a rare variation. In order to complete the transaction, we will need a copy of your FFL, or when appropriate C&R of your choice for shipping purposes. For payment we will accept personal checks, money orders, certified check or cashiers’ check, all major credit cards. Credit cards are acceptable with a 4% up-charge for processing. Personal checks require 8 business days to clear the bank, all other forms of payment receive same day as received shipment. Shipping and full coverage insurance is $50. You are responsible for any state and local laws. By purchase of this item, you release the seller from any liability that may arise due to use or misuse of this firearm.
