The Browning Hi-Power is a military icon. Since its introduction in 1935 it has built a remarkable reputation for function and longevity. It is one of the most widely used military pistols in history, having been used by the armed forces of over 50 countries in conflicts from World War two to the present. It was one of the few weapons used by both Axis and Allied forces during the 1939-1945 conflict. Based on a design by John Moses Browning who began work on the gun in 1914, the design was finalized by FN Herstal designer Dieudonne Saive following Mr. Browning’s death in 1926. The Browning was famous for having a double stack magazine with a 13-round capacity, a significant advantage when most semi-automatic side arms of the period held seven or eight rounds. This gave the gun its name- High power- later shortened to Hi-Power. This example, serial number 511ZV51799 manufactured by FN in 2016 has been modified by Nighthawk. Nighthawk has extended the beavertail, upgraded the sights with a gold front bead and serrated U notch, ambidextrous safety, upgraded steel internals, improved magazine release, and hand textured the slide and grip. It retains 99% of its factory finish on all parts and has a mirror bore. Included with this Hi-Power is a green Nighthawk range bag, test brass, documents, and four 13 round mags.
