For sale is a T-series Browning Hi Power pistol chambered in 9mm Luger. The pistol was made in 1966 at the FN Herstal factory in Herstal, Belgium. The P-35 Hi Power is significant in firearms history as the last incomplete design of John Browning, finished by Dieudonné Saive, Browning's student. The pistol is also the first double-stack automatic pistol chambered in 9mm. The pistols were used by military and police forces from its completion in 1935 until even today: both Allied and Nazi soldiers used the pistol during World War II, the pistol was popular with British Special Forces from WWII even through the modern Global War on Terror, Canada's Mounted Police have been issued Hi Powers, and the pistol can still be found in scattered usage around the world today. 'T-series' Hi Powers such as this are often sought-after by Hi Power aficionados for a few reasons: the T-series pistols are the last runs of Belgian-made Hi Powers and feature beautiful deep blued finishes and many have actually been hand-fitted together and have nicer slide-to-frame-to-barrel fitment and operate smoother than others. They also are some of the last Hi Power pistols of the Mark I version, featuring the original ring hammer and other features such as the infamous magazine disconnect, single-side thumb safety, and forged steel construction. The T-series is also a popular choice for custom work, as the serial is located below the takedown pin/slide lock lever rather than on the front or back straps of the pistol—places where stippling or checkering would otherwise have to go around a serial. This pistol does have the magazine disconnect installed and appears to be all-original except for the addition of black rubber Pachmayr grips and possibly a replacement barrel marked '9x19.' The pistol is in excellent condition and shows no significant damage to the barrel, frame, or slide. The finish is also excellent and does not seem to have been tampered with or refinished.
