Browning Hi-Power 9mm – 99%+, 2001, SATIN CHROME, CASE, vintage firearms
Description: General Specs: Browning, 2001, 9mm, 34oz., Barrel 4 3/4" Serial Number: 511MZ53185 The Browning Hi-Power is a military icon. Since its introduction in 1935 it has built a remarkable reputation for function and longevity. It is one of the most widely used military pistols in history, having been used by the armed forces of over 50 countries in conflicts from World War two to the present. It was one of the few weapons used by both Axis and Allied forces during the 1939-1945 conflict. Based on a design by John Moses Browning who began work on the gun in 1914, the design was finalized by FN Herstal designer Dieudonne Saive following Mr. Browning’s death in 1926. The Browning was famous for having a double stack magazine with a 13-round capacity, a significant advantage when most semi-automatic side arms of the period held seven or eight rounds. This gave the gun its name- High power- later to be shortened to Hi-Power. This is a 2001 manufactured pistol; it is serial number 511MZ53185 The gun is finished in Browning’s Satin Chrome and shows 99%+ factory original finish. The bore is perfect. The gun does not appear to have been fired much, maybe just a test mag! It comes with the original Browning hardcase, manual and two 10 round magazines. 13 round mags are readily available. Browning has discontinued manufacture of the classic Hi-Power. The probability of finding such a notable Hi-Power with the uncommon Satin Chrome finish are diminishing, so add it to your collection soon. Thanks for looking.
