While most versions of the TP9 or Mete are duty guns or competition pistols, the MC9 is built purely as a conceal-carry self-defense pistol. It is geared towards fulfilling the same rolls that pistols such as the Smith & Wesson Shield Plus and Sig Sauer P365 do. The Mete MC9 features a short 3.18-inch-long barrel, a low-profile ambidextrous slide stop, a blacked out rear sight and white dot front sight. Sight radius is a respectable 5.375 inches. The slide has forward and rear slide serrations. The maximum width of the MC9 is a mere 1.12 inches. Overall length is only 6.1 inches. As with the standard TP9/Mete, the MC9’s frame is equipped with a 1913 picatinny under-barrel rail. The magazine catch is reversible for left-hand shooters. One major improvement over the optic ready TP9 models is that the rear sight and optic plate are now separate, allowing for the user to co-witness their chosen optic with the pistol’s base iron sights. As a bonus, the MC9’s sights are tall enough to co-witness with most optics. This example of the MC9 comes with a MECANIK M01 red dot optic already installed. Another improvement over the TP9 is the internal changes made to the pistol to allow for easier disassembly. These begin with the easy-in-easy-out push pins which can be removed using a little pressure from a punch (see accessories below). Once these are removed, the internal parts are arranged to be modular enough that a complete disassembly and reassembly of the pistol is possible just using the punch. The Mete MC9 comes with a very high number of accessories compared to most name brand pistols such as Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Glock, and H&K. Description:
The Canik TP9 is one of the recent and newly popular pistols to be imported to the American market. Its various models are becoming increasingly popular as more and more people try out this excellent pistol. The Mete (pronounced Met-Ay) is one of the newest iterations, the one shown here being the MC9 model. This model serves a very different purpose than most other Canik pistols. While most versions of the TP9 or Mete are duty guns or competition pistols, the MC9 is built purely as a conceal-carry self-defense pistol. It is geared towards fulfilling the same rolls that pistols such as the Smith & Wesson Shield Plus and Sig Sauer P365 do. The Mete MC9 features a short 3.18-inch-long barrel, a low-profile ambidextrous slide stop, a blacked out rear sight and white dot front sight. Sight radius is a respectable 5.375 inches. The slide has forward and rear slide serrations. The maximum width of the MC9 is a mere 1.12 inches. Overall length is only 6.1 inches. As with the standard TP9/Mete, the MC9’s frame is equipped with a 1913 picatinny under-barrel rail. The magazine catch is reversible for left-hand shooters. One major improvement over the optic ready TP9 models is that the rear sight and optic plate are now separate, allowing for the user to co-witness their chosen optic with the pistol’s base iron sights. As a bonus, the MC9’s sights are tall enough to co-witness with most optics. This example of the MC9 comes with a MECANIK M01 red dot optic already installed. Another improvement over the TP9 is the internal changes made to the pistol to allow for easier disassembly. These begin with the easy-in-easy-out push pins which can be removed using a little pressure from a punch (see accessories below). Once these are removed, the internal parts are arranged to be modular enough that a complete disassembly and reassembly of the pistol is possible just using the punch. The Mete MC9 comes with a very high number of accessories compared to most name brand pistols such as Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Glock, and H&K.
