1855 pistol/carbine .58 cal by Antonio Zoli Civil War Reproduction
Description:
1855 pistol.58 cal by Antonio Zoli Civil War Reproduction
A 1855 US pistol which is designed to take a shoulder stock but none is included in this listing(pistol only). This is the US Springfield Pistol, also referred to as the 1855 dragoon pistol. This is a reproduction made by ANTONIO ZOLI & CO. The original was made in both Springfield and Harpers Ferry arsenals. Was carried by mounted US units from the 1850's right into the American Civil War. Although this pistol was never produced in huge numbers, due to the popularity of the revolver, many US and Confederate cavalry still used them throughout the conflict. This reproduction pistol is hard to find, these days. I am selling this for an estate. It is lightly used and functions perfectly. It has been on display hanging on a wall in a gun room for some time. It has a .58 cal 12 inch tapered round barrel. 1 in 72 inch twist. Front sight is one piece blue steel base and blade. Rear sight is blue steel open style w/1 flip up. A percussion, single shot. Uses musket size cals. Overall length is 18 1/4 inch,. Weighs 3 3/4 lbs. Recommended 30 grains of black powder, .570 round ball with patch. Very good bore. Full blue barrel and color case hardened lock, and the ram-rod ball with a pin through it attached to the front swivel. A few light scratches on the stock. $18 shipping
