Antique A.H. Waters U.S. Model 1836 Percussion Pistol
Description: Antique A.H. Waters U.S. Model 1836 Percussion Pistol Mexican-American and American Civil War Here we present an antique A.H. Waters U.S. Model 1836 Flintlock Pistol, made in 1844 in Milbury, Massachusetts. There were actually two manufacturers of these guns: Asa Waters and Robert Johnson. Combined, the production totals 41,000 guns. This was the last U.S. martial pistol to use the flintlock system, and many consider this the best of all U.S. flint guns due to its craftsmanship and aesthetic appeal. The gun is historically significant as this was the primary issue pistol during the Texas Revolution, Mexican American War, and was even significantly used during the American Civil War, in the percussion converted format. Many of these were lost to attrition during so many conflicts and many were converted for use by North & South during the Civil War. This example is one of only 4,000 made by Asa Waters marked “A. H. WATERS & Co./MILBURY. MS. 1844”. The left side of the barrel is marked “U.S./N.B./P”. The left stock has inspectors initials “NB” and “W.A.T.” for William Anderson Thornton Capt. USA. The overall condition is very good. The metal parts bear a light gray patina. The markings are clear. The walnut stock is in good shape showing honest handling and wear. The cartouches are clear. The bore is smooth and in good shape. The action is excellent. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 8-1/2 inches. Caliber: .54 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1400 #6246 SOLD Antique: Yes |
