An Early "Richard Hollis" Large Bore High Grade Percussion Deringer Style Single Shot Pistol In Fine Plus To Excellent Untouched Condition! All original and complete. The pistol has fine plus to excellent metal, markings, and factory engraving throughout it. The barrel retains fine original brown finish with some areas showing light thinning. It has a silver and gold bands on the top near the bolster. The lock, hammer, tang area of the barrel and trigger guard are finely factory engraved. It is marked on the lock "RICHS HOLLIS" & it is inletted in the top of the barrel "LONDON" with a fine gold colored rectangular bar. The checkered wood is fine throughout and has silver fittings throughout it. These include on the sides of the wood where the keys fit in to hold the barrel in place, the forend cap and ramrod fittings, an oval fitting on the back of the grip, and two detailed birds on the bckside of the wood as shown. The checkered grips are very finely done. The pistol has a fine action and rifled bore which is about 1/2 inch in diameter. The entire pistol is 9 1/2 inches long and the barrel is 5 inches in length. This Is A Very Fine Example Of An Early 1850's "Richard Hollis" Large Bore High Grade Percussion Deringer Style Single Shot Pistol That Would Be A Wonderful Addition To Any Historic Collection!
