European Long Percussion Horse Pistol

Description:
A well made unique European percussion horse pistol with an overall length of 20" and a round barrel of 13 1/2". with chisel engraving on the top . Could not find a makerss name and it may have been made for export. The lock-plate is chisel engraved with a warrior and flags and with a panoply of cannon, shield, and flags , often found on earlier flintlock pistols and this fine gun may have been a previous flintlock at one time too. Action is stout and works very well. .Brass furniture has engraved designs and a deer on the trigger guard. Nipple looks clean, and comes with a more recent, hardwood ram-rod with a brass tip.The .56 cal bore is very good for age and smooth bore. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith  before  shooting. May have been a blockade runner in the Civil War.
