1943 COLT M1911A1 .45 ACP - 1911 WWII Tanker Rig - Battle Worn US Property GI Bring Back

*** SOLD *** ~U.S. COLT MODEL 1911 A1 ARMY SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL (1943)
 
WWII GI bring-back. Purchased from the estate of the Veteran who carried, fought and brought it back in remembrance.
It shows a wonderful, battle-worn, patina finish. Only place that has damage is a small flat spot on top of the rear sight, which does not affect the sight picture.
 
Standard Colt 1911A1, mid-war production, U.S. Army .45 is in 100% original condition. The left side of the slide has patent dates. The top of the slide is stamped with proof "P". Right side of slide is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY M1911A1 US ARMY". Ordnance wheel on right rear frame. The left side of the frame is stamped with inspector "GHD" for Guy Dewey. Proof "P" next to magazine release.
 
The features are the short checkered, wide-spur hammer, checkered slide-stop and safety, checkered arched mainspring housing with lanyard loop, short checkered trigger, Coltwood brown composition checkered grips. Comes with two, original "L" toe stamped magazines. Blued barrel stamped "COLT 45 AUTO" with proof "P" on left lug. Bore is excellent, strong, clean lands and grooves. Rear sight has flat top with beveled corners.
 
Tanker holster is in very fine condition with no damage, it is missing the backside of a button snap, easily replaced if desired. Shows a bit of verdigris on the brass surfaces which we left as originally found. The leather is soft and pliable with no cracks or tears.
 
Great example of an all original 1943 Colt 1911 GI bring-back.

Modern firearms must be transferred through a licensed FFL dealer in your area. A C&R license is acceptable for C&R firearms only (guns determined to be C&R eligible by ATF and/or guns known to be at least 50 years old).
New York Residents: Handguns cannot be shipped directly to a C&R holder in the State of New York and must be transferred through your local dealer.
Antique firearms require the buyer to supply proof of age. Some areas may require an FFL transfer for antique & black powder firearms (New Jersey, NYC, etc.)

- Any item not shown, such as an original box, paperwork, or tools, are not available.
