This Colt Government Model MKIV Series 70, manufactured circa 1974, is a fine example of the early production era featuring the desirable large roll mark on the slide. Finished in Colt’s classic blue, this pistol remains all original, retaining its factory grips and accompanied by its manual, Colt screwdriver, and an early 1970s vintage woodgrain box (missing end label).
The included magazine is the correct Series 70 variation, factory-marked “Colt .45 Auto.” with drain hole and no Colt logo on the baseplate — an authentic detail, as Colt did not add its logo until the early 1980s.
A must-have for collectors, this Series 70 offers both originality and period-correct accessories, making it a standout example of Colt’s craftsmanship during the golden era of 1911 production.
