** SOLD ** Colt National Match Gold Cup 1911 in .45 Auto Cal **Mfg 1968 - Period Correct Box - Great Slide to Frame Fit**

Description:
For consideration is a Colt National Match 1911 chambered in .45 auto caliber. The Colt Gold Cup® is known as the finest shooting semi-automatic in the world, and is the standard for competitive guns. The first Colt Gold Cup® pistol was introduced in the late 1950’s to give competitive shooters a gun to take directly from the dealer’s showcase to the firing line. Colt Gold Cup® pistols have been used to compete in local club matches through the National Matches at Camp Perry. This Gold Cup National Match features an Adjustable Wide Trigger, National Match® Barrel, Adjustable Target Sights, and many other refinements as standard. This fine Colt 1911 was made during a "sweet spot" of Colt production. This pistol has a mil-spec grip safety and thumb safety...match trigger with adjustable overtravel and adjustable rear sight. It has serrated front and rear grip frame and handsome wood grip panels with Colt medallions. The fit and finish are exceptional....slide-to-frame fit is very good. The deep rich bluing of the period is beautiful and when paired with the handsome grip panels it makes for a very attractive pistol. The 5 inch barrel has a bright bore with strong rifling. The rear sight is an adjustable Elliason which is correct for this pistol and the period. There is just a hint of high edge wear and one spot on the right side just below the back of the slide (see photo 2). There is a very faint line on the left side below the takedown pin....not to the point of being a "dummy mark" but there is a very light line from the reassembly process. This fine Colt would make a great addition to a collection or an awesome target pistol for bullseye matches at the range. One magazine and period correct makers box are included.
