Description:
U.S. Colt Model 1911 semiautomatic pistol chambered in .45 Automatic. Manufactured at an unknown date and assumed to be later overhauled by either the Springfield Armory or Augusta Arsenal between 1925 and 1953. The high serial number (X2694646) and parkerized finish would suggest that it was refurbished in the late 1940s to 1953. The "X" serial number prefix came into use in 1924 to replace numbers on pistols that had been stolen and recovered with the numbers defaced, or if the numbers had been obliterated during the arsenal refurbishment process. Comes with a single unmarked 7-round magazine. .45 Auto
