Collectors: This is one of the 500 or so Colt McCormick Factory Racer .45 ACP competition pistols exclusively distributed by Lew Horton. These were made in 1994, during the height of the early IPSC era. This factory Colt custom pistol has an ‘MFR’ serial number prefix, which identifies its association with legendary competitive shooter and gunsmith Chip McCormick. This factory racer includes competition modificaitons that shooters were paying gunsmiths to perform back then, resulting in this fast cycling, ergonomic pistol with improved trigger pull. Other features include satin stainless finish, 5" barrel, ribbed flat top slide factory rollmarked with “McCormick Factory Racer", skeletonized hammer, lightweight adjustable trigger, extended beaver tail and safety lever, and rubber wraparound grips with Colt medallions. It is in excellent plus lightly used condition with few handling marks and no issues. The action is superb and the bore is sharp and bright.
