Description:
Excellent Colt National Match .38 Special Mid Range pistol (cal.: .38 Special, serial#: 1818-MR), earliest variation barrel address, made in 1961, with patridge front sight and Elliason-type fully adjustable rear target sight. Left side of slide referencing National Match and the caliber. Colt address in Hartford on right side of the slide. First variation barrel marked “COLT .38 SPEC. N.M.” over chamber. Serial number on right side of frame. Fitted with checkered walnut grips with gold Colt medallions. Correct factory magazine referencing Colt and Caliber on floorplate. Complete with Spare magazine, literature, to include; warranty card and factory target; original shipping box marked with SN on bottom.
Condition:
EXC bright original blue with sharp edge wear and slight fading of front/back straps as imaged. Comparable condition grips that remain very sharply checkered. Magazines with insertional wear, the spare magazine with broken slide holdopen tab. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics except for spare mag that is missing the holdopen tab. VG box with shelf wear. An attractive and very early Colt .38 midrange, well suited for a serious Colt Collector with just enough wear to take to the range!
