The 2.5"" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The barrel retains approx. 98% of its nickel finish. It is marked on the top COLT'S PAT. F.A. Co. over HARTFORD CT U,S,A, with No 1 over the breech. The scroll engraved steel frame is fine. It does not appear to have been silver plated. The serial number, 1342, matches on the barrel and bottom of the grip. The action functions correctly. This ia a great example of the scarce Colt first model derringer.
