Colt Third Model (Thuer) Derringer in .41 RF, SN: 10033, with blued/nickel plated finish. Classic single-shot sideways-open action derringer with a 2.5-inch blued barrel marked with italic "COLT", a fixed blade front sight and no rear sight as typical of pocket derringers of this era. The SN: "10033" marked on the left side of the nickeled frame under the grip. Smooth walnut birds head grips, each with a penciled-matching serial number. The Third Model Derringer was designed by F. Alexander Thuer around 1875 and became Colt's most popular derringer, remaining in production until 1912 with approximately 48,000 total manufactured. ANTIQUE!!!
Condition:
VG original condition with the blued barrel having sharp edge wear and handling marks as one might expect from holster carry. Comparable condition, milky/dulled nickeling on the frame with faded color case hardening on hammer and fire blued trigger. Grips retaining the majority of their original varnish with a scattering of handling marks. Bright bore with sharp rifling, a few minor erosions. Correct manual mechanics.
