SAN ANTONIO TEXAS Lettered COLT 1903 Pistol Roaring Twenties TX WW2 II C&R
WORLD WAR II Captured “BRINGBACK”
Description: SAN ANTONIO TEXAS Lettered COLT 1903 Pistol Roaring Twenties TX WW2 II C&R WORLD WAR II Captured “BRINGBACK” Here we present a C&R Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless Pistol manufactured in Hartford, Connecticut in 1928. This one comes with a factory letter that states the shipment date as 26 October 1928 to Praeger Hardware Company in San Antonio, Texas. Oral tradition on this piece is that this was a capture bringback piece from World War II Germany and that it was taken from a German soldier with the last name of Praeger. The Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless was a short-recoil, semi-automatic pistol, designed by the American arms designer John Moses Browning. The Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless (not to be confused with the Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammer) is a .32 ACP caliber, self-loading, semi-automatic pistol. Despite the title "hammerless", the Model 1903 does have a hammer. The hammer is covered and hidden from view under the rear of the slide. This allows the pistol to be carried in and withdrawn from a pocket quickly and smoothly without snagging. Approximately 570,000 Colt Pocket Hammerless pistols were produced from 1903 to 1945, in five different types. Some were issued to U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force general officers from World War II through the 1970s. The overall condition is very good. Original finish with a light scale. Excellent action. Bright, sharply rifled bore. Sharp markings. Good grips with an expected amount of handling. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 3-3/4 inches. Caliber: .32 ACP Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1800 #228359 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
