"USMC COLT Black Army M1911 pistol .45 ACP (L2025-11046)

Description:
"Serial number 457816. Made in 1918 at about the same time as the Armistice with a 5-inch barrel that has a good bore with frosting in the grooves. This ""Black Army"" Model of 1911 is marked with a circle ""S"" on the right side of the trigger guard which indicates that the USMC sold it as surplus to the Sedgley Corp. of Philadelphia after World War II. The Sedgley mark was applied to these USMC 1911s to show that the guns were not stolen U.S. Government property, but rather disposed of as a result of a legitimate & officially authorized government sale. In this way, the circle ""S"" indicates that this 1911 was in USMC inventory during at least the Second World War but possibly during the closing days of the First World War as well. Comes with a pair of original checkered wood diamond grips & a two-tone 7-round magazine.
