Offered for sale this week is a fine example of the very coveted and desirable blued finish M1911A1. This example was shipped to the Springfield Armory on June 28th, 1941. The finish is original and still very lustrous. Many collectors consider these to be amoung the most beautiful pistols Colts ever produced. The combination of the brushed blue finish and high polish small parts really makes these guns stand out. The pistol has its numbered matching slide, Coltwood hollowback grips as well has a COLT 45 Auto marked barrel with the small G in front of the lug. The magazine is an early war pinned base full blue contractor mag and is S marked on the toe. The pistol shows only honest wear from handling. These pistols were almost certainly issued out during WW2 making decent examples very scarce. I only see about one or two of these a year.
